You may have heard the phrase ‘mummy brain', or ‘baby brain’, used colloquially to describe how people feel when they’re pregnant. But now, for the first time, researchers have captured the profound changes the brain undergoes throughout pregnancy, and after giving birth. And – despite the slightly self-deprecating use of phrases such as ‘pregnancy brain’, researchers don’t think these changes are a negative thing.
